Shepherd of the Hills is involved in many mission and ministry programs both locally and globally. For over the last 10 years a large group of adults and youth have traveled to Tecate Mexico to help build 20 homes for those in need.
The Women in Mission group supports two main causes: mid-wife kits for developing countries and tuition support for a Maesae girl at the Maesae Girls Lutheran School in Tanzania. This fall several of our members are traveling back to the MaeSae Girls school in Tanzania. As a church, we raised almost two thousand dollars to help purchase school supplies.
Our Men’s Bible study group regularly participates in preparing and serving meals to the homeless people of Seattle at Operation Night Watch. As a congregation we support feeding the homeless of Issaquah with our Hot Meals program and also provide food and financial support for Sophia’s Way, a shelter for women who are transitioning from homelessness to permanent housing.
